Skills Development

We focus strongly on skills development as a means of empowering our clients to create a healthy life for themselves once they leave the shelter. Sewing classes, gardening lessons, cooking & baking, child care, administration and computer classes are some of the skill development workshops that Ihata offers vulnerable women.

Gardening skills teach women how to garden, create compost, raise beds and grow fresh produce, a skill which they can take back to their communities where they can begin a communal garden scheme.
